Inspector - Pressure Equipment

Field Based North West

Job Type:

Full-time Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm



SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification company, is currently seeking a dedicated and technically competent

Inspector

to join our Industrial Services team. In this role, you'll perform inspections across a range of systems on pressure equipment and manufacturers, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and European directives.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct inspections on pressure containment equipment in line with relevant UK and European legislation Fulfil duties of an Inspector Work independently and safely in the field, supporting clients with timely and accurate inspections.

Essential Skills & Knowledge



Technical background in mechanical engineering or hands-on experience in field inspections. Proficiency in IT systems, particularly MS Office. Ability to work autonomously, adapt quickly, and manage changing priorities.

Desirable Skills



Familiarity with pressure and mechanical equipment. Knowledge of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (ADR) or related industry experience.

Experience Required



Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining precision and attention to detail. Demonstrable success in fulfilling customer requirements. Experience working both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience



Technical report writing or documentation. On-site inspection work within the UK.

Qualifications

Essential:



GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A-C including Maths and English. A-Levels (or equivalent) or relevant occupational qualifications. Full, valid UK driving licence.

Desirable:



Formal engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar).
