Job description
Are you a recent graduate or a career professional passionate about sustainability and environmental impact? Join our dynamic team as a Regulatory Officer and help shape a cleaner, greener future by regulating waste and industrial sites across the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire area.

What You will Do

As part of our frontline regulatory team, you'll:

Conduct compliance assessments at sites including landfill, biowaste, incineration, and hazardous waste Ensure operators meet environmental permit conditions and prevent pollution Investigate environmental incidents and support corrective actions Influence best practice across industry, communities, and stakeholders using your communication and negotiation skills

The team
About the Team



You will be part of a collaborative team regulating sectors from chemicals and combustion to food & drink and hazardous waste. We also work closely with the Health & Safety Executive under COMAH regulations, giving you exposure to high-impact environmental work.



Location & Working Style



You will cover the Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Cheshire regions, with flexibility for site visits and home working with our base office in Warrington.
Experience/skills required
Ideally, you will have:

A degree (or equivalent) in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline A proactive, self-motivated mindset Strong communication and influencing skills Technical or regulatory interest in waste or industrial sectors Contact and additional information
Following training, you'll take on an incident management role, which may include out-of-hours standby duties. A full UK driving license is required, and a pool or hire vehicle will be provided for business travel.
