Job description
Are you passionate about protecting the environment? We're looking for driven individuals to join our team to focus on the regulation of our landfill sites. In this role, you'll oversee landfill site compliance across the region of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire--playing a vital part in safeguarding communities and the environment.



What You'll Do



Regulate a portfolio of landfill sites and ensure permit compliance Conduct site inspections and respond to environmental incidents Leading enforcement actions and audits--both virtual and on-site Analyse environmental monitoring data to drive performance Provide technical advice across teams and support wider regulatory efforts Use your influence and negotiation skills to promote best practice


You'll cover the Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Cheshire regions, with flexibility for site visits and home working with our base office in Warrington.
The team
Our regulatory teams work across diverse industrial and rural landscapes, united by a strong collaborative culture. The Installations Team ensures compliance at permitted sites and engages with senior stakeholders, communities, and industry leaders.
Experience/skills required
What We're Looking For



Ideally, you'll have:

Experience in waste or landfill regulation or industry Familiarity with environmental management systems, auditing, and root cause analysis Ability to interpret environmental monitoring and performance data Experience managing multiple priorities independently A continuous improvement mindset A degree (or equivalent) in a scientific, environmental, or engineering discipline Membership of a relevant professional organisation (preferred) Contact and additional information
Following training, you'll take on an incident management role, which may include out-of-hours standby duties. A full UK driving licence is required, and a pool or hire vehicle will be provided for business travel.
