At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
About the Role:
To conduct practical sessions in equine, primarily to Further Education (FE) students at Level 1, 2 and Level 3. To take responsibility for managing cohorts of full-time learners during their weekly yard duty sessions and deliver practical sessions in riding, ground schooling and horse management/routine care. To plan and facilitate practical assessment sessions and provide formative feedback on assessment outcomes with clear action plans and targets to ensure leaners develop their skills. Plan and facilitate practical synoptic assessments and write up leaners assessment outcomes.
To follow Writtle College administrative protocols to maintain accurate training and assessment records. To contribute to the planning and ongoing development of equine courses and programs. To play an active role in student recruitment and in promoting the visibility and reputation of equine education at Writtle College. To regularly participate in technical training and maintain up-to-date records of continuing professional development in line with CPD expectations.
You should have a minimum of either Two A levels or vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent. be in possession of industry relevant qualifications with a minimum of a BHS stage 2 or equivalent.
A BHS stage 2 coaching qualification or commitment to achieving one within a specified period and a teaching qualification (level 5) or commitment to achieving one within a specified period is desirable.
