About the Role



CHG Electrical Ltd is seeking a proactive and highly skilled

Instrumentation Technician

to support the installation, calibration, testing and maintenance of instrumentation systems across water and wastewater treatment sites.

Working as part of our MEICA delivery team, you will play a key hands-on role in ensuring that all instrumentation--including flow, level, pressure, analytical and telemetry equipment--is installed, configured and maintained to the highest standards of accuracy, compliance and reliability.

This role is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong understanding of water industry processes, WIMES standards and site-based operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities



Install, commission, calibrate and maintain a wide range of instrumentation across clean and wastewater assets. Diagnose faults on instrumentation, control systems and monitoring equipment, ensuring prompt and effective resolution. Carry out routine inspections, verification activities, loop checks and functional testing. Work closely with EICA Engineers, Project Managers and commissioning teams to support project delivery and site integration. Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with RAMS, design specifications and water industry compliance requirements. Maintain accurate documentation including calibration records, site reports and inspection logs. Assist with PLC/SCADA interface checks and support control system integration where required. Liaise with clients, operators and internal teams to ensure high-quality handovers and smooth operational transition. Ensure tools, materials and equipment are correctly used, maintained and available for scheduled works. Promote CHG's strong safety culture and uphold safe systems of work at all times.

About You



Proven experience as an Instrumentation Technician within the water, wastewater or process industries. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls or related discipline. Strong understanding of water treatment processes, WIMES-compliant instrumentation and telemetry systems. Experience working with flow meters, level sensors, pressure transmitters, turbidity and chlorine analysers, and similar equipment. Good knowledge of calibration techniques, fault-finding and loop testing. ECS/CSCS, Confined Space, EUSR and/or COMPEX advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach. Strong communication ability and confidence working independently or within multi-skilled teams. Full UK driving licence essential.

Pay: 19.50-22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
