Job Description

We are looking to appoint an experienced music teacher to join our dynamic SEND team on a permanent, part-time basis. This position is ideally suited to a multi-instrumental/vocal teacher with experience of working with those with complex barriers to learning. They will have a genuine passion, drive, and enthusiasm for supporting and ensuring that every learner feels valued, nurtured, and respected and receives the best possible education experience.

Ideally, you will have

:

The ability to manage a group of learners with differing needs and in varying age groups The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents, and carers. A high level of musicianship and confidence in working in a flexible, learner-centred way The ability to meet the learner where they are at musically Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEND), including those with complex disabilities The ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment. The skills to be able to work closely and collaboratively with the Head of Inclusion and SENDCo or equivalent Strong communication skills are a must, as is an ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes the emotional well-being and musical development of every learner. Previous experience working with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies. Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs and EHCPs.
