We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of instrumentation and PLC- SCADA systems on plant. The Instrument Technician will play a vital part in supporting our operational efficiency and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to sensors, transmitters, controllers, and other instrumentation devices.
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose faults effectively.
Use AutoCAD software for updating and reviewing system layouts and schematics as required.
Maintain existing installed instrumentation systems and upgrade existing equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with other engineering team members to optimise system performance.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
Assist in the development of preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing operational concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
Proven experience in maintenance or repair of instrumentation systems within industrial or manufacturing environments.
Strong process plant knowledge combined with control and instrumentation experience is essential.
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams; experience with AutoCAD is highly desirable.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their programming or troubleshooting is preferred.
Knowledge of control systems, sensors, transmitters, valves, and related components.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping.
