You will passionately drive the evolution of Policy Experts software delivery capability. You understand and embrace the philosophy of continuous delivery and have experience of leading teams operating within a CD culture. You passionately believe in an agile, DevOps-centric team that builds, tests, releases and operates its own applications. Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of insurance products, operations and customers.
  • Understanding of low latency/high throughput, distributed systems.
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical to discuss and gather requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proven track record leading deliveries throughout its lifecycle
  • Complete understanding of continuous delivery with a track record of team improvement through emergent and leading practices
  • Strong people and project management experience with a proven ability to mentor and grow a highly productive, dynamic and technically proficient team
  • Highly energised and focussed individual with a proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring a shared sense of shared purpose within the team
  • Defining a roadmap and well understood success criteria aligned to business delivery needs
  • Working in close collaboration with other team members and stakeholders
  • Leading delivery of a product (or products) by building and leading a high-performing team containing all the required skills and capabilities.
  • Setting achievable goals and good processes to keep a team moving forward to meet customer need
  • Removing blockers to optimise delivery
  • Agreeing responsibilities, and tasks and expectations with the team so everyone is clear on their contribution
  • Agreeing and drive practices and ceremonies
  • Communicating with stakeholders about the work and progress of the team, including escalating blockers and risks and managing dependencies
  • Visualising the work of the team to track and ensure sustainable progress
  • Championing Lean and Agile practices
  • Supporting the team to achieve success
  • Managing Delivery team and holding 1-2-1's
