Insurance Building Surveyor / Estimator



We are seeking a skilled and proactive

Building Surveyor

to join our team, focusing on the inspection and assessment of

domestic and commercial properties

that have suffered damage due to

fire, flood, escape of water, subsidence, impact, or other insured perils

. This role involves

site visits

, detailed reporting, and collaboration with insurers, contractors, and property owners to support the reinstatement process.

Key Responsibilities:



Conduct thorough

site inspections

of damaged properties to assess the extent and nature of building defects or loss. Prepare detailed

survey reports

, including recommendations for repair, reinstatement, or further investigation. Liaise with

insurance companies

, loss adjusters, contractors, and clients to ensure accurate and timely communication. Provide

technical advice

on building pathology, construction methods, and repair strategies. Monitor and support

reinstatement works

, ensuring compliance with building regulations and quality standards. Assist in preparing

cost estimates

, schedules of work, and tender documentation. Maintain accurate records and documentation for each case, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. Stay up to date with relevant legislation, building codes, and industry best practices.

Requirements:



Proven experience in surveying

fire, flood, or insurance-related damage

is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of

building construction

, pathology, and repair techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region.

Desirable Skills:



Experience with

insurance claims

and working with loss adjusters. Familiarity with

sing Xactware, Core logic, Salesforce Knowledge of

health and safety regulations

and CDM requirements
