About the role
The Specialist Risk Group is seeking to hire an Insurance Law & Compliance Expert to support SRG's growing international business, establishing sound legal and governance frameworks, facilitating alignment with the wider SRG Group.
The role involves exercising expert Legal and Compliance knowledge in the insurance and intermediary fields in order to drive the group wide development and implementation of the global Compliance and Legal frameworks. The role will report to the Group Head. Regulatory, Risk & Compliance, and work closely with the regional teams and Group functions.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
You will be expected to establish and maintain an international licensing guide, assessing cross-border regulations on insurance distribution.
You will be expected provide legal advice on insurance matters and support in the review of insurance and reinsurance wording.
Who we're looking for
Experience:
Strong legal experience within the insurance market, in the UK, EU and/ or internationally.
Proven experience in Commercial Law and Insurance Law.
Experience in reviewing and drafting insurance and reinsurance wordings.
Experience in developing and implementing governance policies and frameworks.
Experience in reviewing regulations and regulatory developments, and providing practical advice to the business units

What you'll get
Extensive knowledge of UK insurance broking and MGA operations, ideally spanning Retail, Wholesale, and Underwriting.
Significant experience in post-acquisition integration, team lift-integration, operating model design, or senior business analysis within financial services.
Strong understanding of the UK regulatory and operational environment for insurance intermediaries (e.g. FCA requirements, TOBAs, client money, insurer relationships).
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Proven ability to operate at senior level, engaging with executives, workstream leads, and acquired company or team leadership.
Highly analytical, structured, and comfortable handling complex operational and regulatory detail.
