Job Description

Description

The ideal candidate will have a formal project or programme management certification, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage the programme management system, and provide leadership and clear communication to drive a world-class Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Working Arrangements

The role will commence in the Organising Company's Glasgow city centre office, with visits required to competition venues to fully deliver the responsibilities of the role. The location for the role may transition to be based at a competition venue as we approach the Games.

The role will be contracted for 40 hours per week, with requirements to be in the office aligned to the Organising Company's planned working pattern. All travel to your place of work will be at your own cost. During the Games Operational period, shift patterns are likely to be required which could include weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Integrated Planning Lead in defining programme strategies, objectives, and key deliverables, ensuring alignment of all projects with overarching goals. Coordinate workstream leads and resources to capture and maintain consistent programme management information, including the Delivery Schedule, Issues and Risks Registers, Decision and Action Trackers, and Change Management records, to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the programme lifecycle. Serve as the primary point of contact between workstreams, the Organising Company Project Delivery Team, and stakeholders, facilitating effective information flow and addressing queries promptly. Monitor the status of workstreams and individual projects within the programme, proactively flagging issues or risks to the Integrated Planning Lead and assisting in the development of solutions. Ensure resources are available and appropriately allocated to meet programme timelines and deliverables, supported by accurate internal and external reporting. Lead the implementation of programme management best practices and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee the monitoring of issues and risks within workstreams, escalating concerns to the Integrated Planning Manager as required and assisting in the development and management of response plans. Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and updating stakeholders on programme progress. Own and manage the programme management system, encompassing policies, procedures, best practices, access management, and reporting, serving as a subject matter expert for workstreams.
