Job Description

We have an exciting, new opportunity for an Integration Engineer proficient in Middleware technologies to join a team of committed integration specialists. Our strategy is to consolidate onto AWS native integration technologies augmented with best of breed COTS with a program already underway to migrate all existing integration solutions onto this platform





We have big ambitions to move to a real time event driven application integration environment through the use of APIs and streaming technologies, allowing the use and access of data as soon as it becomes available all hosted on cloud native, zero managed infrastructure this is the chance for you to come and be part of an exciting transformation in the way we design, develop and maintain integrations between various systems across the easyJet estate.





This is a permanent role, based in Luton. (Hybrid Working)




What you'll be doing




Develop integration solutions using AWS Integration services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, Glue, EventBridge and others. An appreciation of Cloud Native Architectures, Event Driven Architecture, Event Streaming Platforms and Event Stream Processing and API Management
Configure and manage AWS environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Proficiency with Terraform and/or CloudFormation. An understanding of networking is respect of Cloud application deployment is highly desirable
Write scripts and use automation tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) to automate deployment and management of AWS resources. Utilisation of CI/CD code management, build and release tools (e.g. GitHub, GitLab)
Monitor integrations and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Work closely with software developers, data engineers, and other IT professionals to integrate various systems and applications.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for integrations, processes, and AWS architecture.
Implement and maintain security best practices for AWS environments and integrations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Continuously assess and optimize AWS resources and integrations for cost and performance improvements.

Requirements of the Role

What you'll bring to the team




Demonstrable experience designing & implementing Middleware technologies, ensuring they align with business requirements, industry best practices and security standards.
Experience with building and operating Event Streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis
Strong knowledge of networking concepts and AWS networking services (VPC, DNS, Route 53, etc.).
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, Node.js, etc.).
Experience with automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
Proficiency with CI/CD tools, in particular GitHub and GitHub Actions.
Experience with API Gateways. Knowledge of independent API Management Platforms (experience with API Gateway solutions like Kong, Nginx or Tyk an advantage).
Experience with Linux and containerisation (RHEL and Amazon Linux)
Knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PII, OWASP and Threat Modelling).
An appreciation of Change Data Capture, Batch & ETL integration patterns and use-cases.
Understanding of integration principles (EDA, Microservices and API Management services) and how they can be best applied to application integration processes/solutions.
