Our

Professional Services Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Integration / SQL Developer to join our Professional Services team. Internally referred to as an Interface Developer, this role focuses on designing and maintaining the data interfaces that connect our student information systems with a wide range of third-party platforms.

You will be responsible for building robust SQL-based integrations involving sensitive financial and personal student data. You will also be expected to produce clear, accurate technical specifications that define the requirements for each integration project. These integrations are primarily delivered through T-SQL on SQL Server, so strong database development skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop data interfaces to import/export data between internal systems and third-party services. Write, optimize, and maintain T-SQL stored procedures, views, and queries. Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to define technical needs and project scope. Write comprehensive interface specifications, including data mapping, transformation logic, file formats, and transfer schedules. Monitor and troubleshoot data flows, resolving transformation and delivery issues effectively. Maintain clear documentation for integration logic and operational procedures. Ensure all solutions meet internal standards for security, reliability, and data quality.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Strong proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL, including stored procedure development and performance tuning. Hands-on experience developing system integrations involving structured data. Ability to create accurate, detailed technical specifications for data interfaces and file transfers. Knowledge of file-based formats (CSV, XML, JSON) and secure transfer methods (e.g. SFTP). Understanding of relational databases and data transformation techniques. Experience working with personal and financial data in a secure and compliant manner.

Desirable Skills

Background working with student information systems or platforms used in education or finance. Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g. SQL Agent) or task automation (e.g. PowerShell). Basic familiarity with APIs (REST, JSON) - although this is not the primary integration method.

What Success Looks Like

Integration projects are delivered on time with well-documented, accurate, and robust specifications. Interfaces are reliable, performant, and compliant with data protection requirements. You are a trusted expert in technical interface design, able to translate requirements into working solutions.
