The Intelligence and Research Manager is responsible for managing Peregrine's open source intelligence function, delivering timely, actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making.
This role involves overseeing research and monitoring activities, including analysing global political and security developments, and producing client-ready intelligence reports. The ideal candidate will have clear knowledge of current affairs, both domestic and foreign, strong research and analysis skills, and experience advising senior leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Research, monitor and assess global political, economic, and security developments with potential impact on clients' operations, investments, and reputation.
Produce regular intelligence briefings, conduct risk assessments, and support situational awareness for client/s and stakeholders.
Manage in-depth research projects on geopolitical trends, regional conflicts, regulatory shifts, and emerging threats.
Synthesise open-source intelligence (OSINT), proprietary data, and expert insights to produce clear and concise reports.
Identify threats, vulnerabilities and associated patterns in client's physical and digital domains.
Advise senior leadership, including the Board of Directors, on key developments and associated implications.
Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, and external teams to align intelligence outputs with business needs.
Represent the organisation in external intelligence networks, think tanks, and industry forums.
Support crisis response and business continuity planning.
Provide real-time intelligence support during global incidents or emerging crises.
Manage a team of analysts and Interns, ensuring high standards of analytical rigour and ethical conduct.
Manage relationships with intelligence vendors, partners, consultancies, and academic partners.
Contribute to internal and external publications, white papers, and strategic foresight reports.
Primary Responsibilities (PRM Focused):
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Guardian Intelligence platform.
Ensure all platform content is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to a diverse audience.
Maintain operational and business development documentation to ensure relevance and compliance.
Support and collaborate on organisational reports
Managing PRM's growing global analyst team
Driving Peregrine's established and reputable intelligence intern programme
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Essential: Bachelor's degree in Security Risk Management, International
Relations, Political Science, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in Security Studies, Geopolitics, Crisis Management, or an intelligence related subject.
Professional Experience:
5+ years of experience in:
Security risk intelligence, geopolitical analysis, or threat assessment.
Managing intelligence teams or research functions in high-risk or global environments.
Working with multinational corporations, government agencies, NGOs, or private security firms.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Proficiency in the use of risk intelligence platforms
Experience with OSINT tools, threat intelligence platfoms, and incident tracking systems.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex security risks.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, including briefing skills, especially for executive and client facing engagements.
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
High emotional intelligence and resilience under pressure in high tempo situations
Ability to support cross-functional operations, engaging with analyst, legal, compliance, and operational security teams.
Certifications (Desirable):
Certified Intelligence Analyst (CIA) or equivalent training.
Crisis Management or Emergency Response training.
