The Opportunity:
British Transport Police have an opportunity for an Intelligence Systems Lead to join the Intelligence Department. As an Intelligence Systems Lead with BTP, you will ensure the operational integrity, development, and continuous improvement of intelligence systems. Acting as a vital link between technical teams, intelligence practitioners, and stakeholders, you will ensure systems are secure, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with organisational objectives
What you'll be doing:
Maintain and optimise intelligence systems
to ensure they are secure, up-to-date, and performing effectively, including overseeing updates and upgrades.
Collaborate with stakeholders
to support project planning and resource allocation, ensuring system developments align with strategic and operational goals.
Translate operational needs into technical solutions
by gathering user feedback and system requirements from intelligence officers, analysts, and technical teams.
Ensure compliance with data protection legislation
, security protocols, and operational standards, supporting audits and reviews of system usage.
Deliver training and user support
, acting as the main point of contact for system-related queries and promoting best practice across the department.
Drive system innovation and improvement
, identifying opportunities for change and ensuring enhancements are effectively scoped, tested, and embedded
What you'll bring to the team:
Experience managing technical systems
in secure or intelligence-led environments, with a focus on operational integrity and improvement.
Strong communication and collaboration skills,
with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, intelligence practitioners, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of secure data handling practices,
including GDPR, system vulnerabilities, and intelligence workflows.
Ability to deliver user support and training,
troubleshoot system issues, and promote best practices in system use.
