About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Interim HR Manager
to support a busy and growing
secondary SEN school
. The ideal candidate will be confident managing day-to-day HR operations in an education setting and will play a key role in overseeing recruitment, compliance, and staff wellbeing during a period of significant growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process for teaching and support staff.
Maintain and update the
Single Central Record (SCR)
in line with safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
Support senior leaders with employee relations matters, including absence management, performance, and staff wellbeing.
Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and records comply with current employment law and school safeguarding standards.
Manage contracts, payroll administration, and staff files in collaboration with the school's business and leadership team.
Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to staff and managers.
About You
Proven HR experience, ideally within a
school or education setting
.
Strong working knowledge of
safer recruitment
and
SCR compliance
.
Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Contracted Hours
This role is very flexible. Ideally, the successful candidate could work 3 full days a week, but for the right person, they are happy to negotiate different hours (e.g 5 mornings, 5 afternoons, mix of half- and full-days).
