Interim Management Accountant

Job Description

Delighted to be partnering with a long standing client of mine who are wanting an experienced Management Accountant to join the business on a 3-6 months basis in Huddersfield. This role would suit a hands-on Management Accountant who can quickly add value and support the finance function during a busy period of change.
Key Responsibilities

  • To produce monthly management accounts, risks and opportunities schedules and associated board report packs within agreed timetables
  • To provide management with meaningful management information to identify early warnings and promote the decision-making process including sales and product contribution performance
  • To produce and be responsible for accurate monthly management accounts in line with the required timescales
  • To complete month end account reconciliations for the profit and loss accounts and balance sheet accounts
  • To work in conjunction with the Project Accountants to produce long term contract end life actual calculation and forecasts and ensure the contract to-date margins are prudent and in line with the financial reporting guidelines
  • To support the year end process and provide external auditors and tax advisors with information within agreed timeframes
  • To provide a financial support for the large defence contracts including determining the technical accounting aspects for those of increasing complexity
  • To lead initiatives such as business process improvement, systems development, cost reduction workshops and financial training within the Finance Team and to non-financial managers
  • To produce cost centre reports and hold monthly reviews with the budget holders
  • Support on the annual budget process, forward forecasts and associated board reports within agreed timetables.
  • To complete all national statistics requirements
  • Responsible for the monthly processing and reconciliation of employee expenses and petty cash
  • Administrator responsibilities for the company card management process
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
About You
  • Knowledge of project and long term contract accounting
  • SAP experience and running month end processes
  • Strong knowledge of Management Accounting and Cost Centre reporting
  • Strong double entry book keeping experience
  • Competent user of Microsoft Suite
