The focus of your role

The role will assess markets and identify opportunities within them that are aligned to Inmarsat\'s strategy. The opportunities will then be scoped during feasibility work before an outline proposition is built. The role will ensure that we are developing the most valuable propositions available and transitioning them to teams that will manage implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop business cases for strategic projects and programmes for Exec approval
  • Define the technical propositions being proposed in Exec language (based on tech team input)
  • Develop the plans to commercialise the solution
  • Coordinate across the BUs/central teams to create the high level business case
  • Engage stakeholders to get agreement with business case
  • Engage with BUs and CDS to understand the market opportunities related to the propositions. Objectively assess their likely market success given the competitive environment.
  • Engage with customers and Partners through insight team work and directly to determine the attractiveness of propositions
  • Work with Commercial and Product team expertise to build a proposition description
  • Coordinate across central teams and BUs to establish a programme of work and support the execution of that work in the feasibility stages
  • Define an outline programme of work which will be handed onto to Commercial, Product and Delivery teams for implementation
  • Engage with external partners on work related to strategic programmes and projects working towards agreements or contracts.
  • Feeding into reporting and budgeting processes on strategic programmes and programmes
  • Producing Excel based financial models for propositions in order to support business cases
  • Key performance metric for the role will be:
  • Timely business case approval and ultimately accuracy of related EBITDA forecasts
Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills you\'ll bring to the role
  • Ability to develop a business case
  • Satellite or telco background desirable. Networking knowledge a plus.
  • Skilled at financial and commercial modelling in Excel, including options analysis
  • Data driven and able to articulate and communicate the message behind the data
  • Ideally ex-strategy consultant for the following skills sets and characteristics: hypothesis led, able to manage projects within an organisation/influence others (without hierarchical authority), able to work to tight timescales, ability to define a problem and then structure a path to a solution.
  • Excellent written and presentational skills, for Exec level
  • Ability to summarise lengthy information into Executive bullet points
  • Commercial experience i.e. able to quickly hone in on the constituents of commercial success/failure.
  • Expected to work under tight timescales
  • MBA qualification desirable
  • Knowledge of AI a bonus
