About the role
Our team of planners, landscape architects, environmental scientists, stakeholder engagement consultants and engineers plan, design and deliver the infrastructure and places that make our communities great. From major infrastructure consents to urban streetscapes, Plan reviews to aquaculture strategies, our planning work touches on all aspects of people's lives.
We are looking for an outstanding Intermediate or Senior Planner to join our team in Hastings. You will have a proven track record in accurate, professional planning services and advice, and the ability to provide excellent planning support to Stantec's full range or internal professionals and clients. Identifying opportunities and supporting business development in planning and resource management is an exciting part of the role, as is being part of a talented team delivering top planning services across the country.
In more detail the role involves:
Working with (or leading (Senior Planner)) project teams to prepare statutory planning applications for a range of activities and projects, including evidence for hearings;
Undertaking a wide variety of Planning work across the country. Our clients include local and central government, corporates, land developers and industry, giving you a wide range of opportunities to learn and to develop your Planning career.
Participating in and/or leading community and stakeholder consultation and engagement for planning projects, alongside our fantastic Communications and Engagement Team.
Supporting or developing new business opportunities for Stantec and winning exciting, challenging and career-building planning work.
To be successful in this role you will need
A relevant tertiary qualification in planning or a related field
Membership of (or eligibility for) the NZPI
Broad professional planning experience of at least three years (Intermediate) or more.
The ability to build and maintain effective internal and client relationships
Established networks and/or business development skills, or the willingness to learn
Effective communication skills are a must as are creative problem solving and relationship-building skills
Well-developed ability to interpret national, regional and district planning documents, and a willingness to stay on top of changes and evolve.
