Summary:
Clio is more than just a tech company-we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
What your team does:
Our QA team is embedded within cross-functional product delivery units known as the "Three Amigos": a product owner/BA, one or more engineers, and a QA engineer. From the earliest stages of development, QA is involved in shaping features and defining quality outcomes. The team owns feature delivery end to end--ensuring testing is never an afterthought but a critical and continuous part of the software lifecycle. We support both our core platform and custom client projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and collaboration.
Who you are:
You're an experienced test analyst who thrives when involved early in the development process. You see yourself not just as a tester, but as a critical voice in shaping features, uncovering gaps, and pushing for the best user experience. You're inquisitive by nature, comfortable jumping into complex domains, and keen to understand the "why" behind every function. You've likely worked across both product and project environments, and you're quick to pick up new tools, terminology, and industry nuances. You're methodical, articulate, and collaborative--able to clearly communicate issues and suggestions with engineers and analysts alike. Formal credentials aren't the point--what matters is your experience, your curiosity, and your ability to drive quality throughout the SDLC.
What you'll work on:Collaborate with cross-functional feature teams from the earliest planning stages through delivery. Develop and maintain manual test scripts in Azure DevOps that feed into a wider regression suite. Design clear and traceable test scenarios used for both manual and automated test execution. Contribute to automated testing (frontend, API, performance, security), working closely with automation engineers. Engage in functional and non-functional testing as needed (smoke, regression, performance, API, security). Participate in early-stage feature specification to validate assumptions and identify gaps. Support defect identification, debugging, triage, and resolution. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA tools, processes, and practices. Assist with project-specific testing in client-focused environments with custom requirements. Help deliver evidentiary reporting, test coverage metrics, and support strategic QA initiatives

What you may have:Proven experience as a QA Engineer/Test Analyst in a software development environment. Strong understanding of manual test design and execution. Experience collaborating within cross-functional agile teams. Ability to understand complex business domains quickly. Familiarity with writing test cases in Azure DevOps (or similar tools). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Highly detail-oriented, methodical, and inquisitive. Comfortable with both product and bespoke client project testing.

Serious bonus points if you have:Experience with Playwright or frontend/API test automation frameworks. Background in legal, insurance, or case management software. Prior exposure to "Three Amigos" development or similar collaborative planning models. Understanding of concepts like fee earners, matters, Part 36 offers, etc. Contributions to performance or security testing processes. Ability to provide meaningful input into usability and UX decisions. Familiarity with evidentiary QA reporting or metrics-driven quality analysis.
