About your new role

Accidents involving motor vehicles give rise to countless claims and legal actions, affecting every kind of business and non-commercial organisation and their insurers. The sheer volume of cases, and the constant possibility of major costs and resources being involved, can impact seriously on the operational performance of any of the parties involved.



What is needed most in this situation is a service that can help process cases with maximum speed and efficiency and achieve the most satisfactory settlements possible. Weightmans' Motor team is a market leader in this field offering a full service with dedicated teams dealing with fast track, multi track, fraud, credit hire, indemnity issues and representation at inquests and criminal prosecutions.



We are currently recruiting for Solicitor/Senior Solicitor 3-4 years PQE to manage a caseload of intermediate/multi track motor cases for the Multi-track team in Liverpool or Manchester.



Main duties and responsibilities


+ - Manage caseload effectively and efficiently - Initially review liability, quantum and Claimant Solicitor conduct before devising a strategy for continued handling;
- Liaise with other solicitors, insurers, police, and witnesses to gather evidence
- Instruct various experts as appropriate
- Control Case Manager Diary and action lists
- Attend at court hearings as appropriate
- Attend conferences and JSMs as directed by partner, subject to client approval
- Assist with the management, supervision and development of more junior members of the team
- Complete client and firm MI procedures
- Comply with Data Protection Compliance and Procedures
- Comply with CPR and rehabilitation protocol
- Keep up to date with legal developments in high value personal injury
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets/KPIs
- Ensure relevant deadlines and quality measures are adhered toThis list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role.

About You




You must have some experience of dealing with motor multi-track litigated claims and a genuine interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks.
Experience of handling/assisting a case load of litigated multi-track motor files. Knowledge of CPR Ability to work to meet deadlines and hit targets Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative Excellent communication skills
