Intermediate/senior Electrical Engineer ( Building Services)

Job Description

As a Intermediate/Senior Design Engineer, you will work as part of a team of engineers to deliver innovative and efficient electrical design solutions for a variety of building projects within the MEP sector. You will assist in designing electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, data, and communications systems, ensuring that they meet the required standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:



Electrical Design:

Assist in designing electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and fire alarms.

Technical Calculations:

Perform electrical calculations for load analysis, cable sizing, lighting design, and voltage drop calculations under the guidance of senior engineers.

AutoCAD & Revit Drafting:

Help create and review electrical layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.

Compliance & Standards:

Ensure that designs comply with relevant UK regulations and standards, such as the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), Building Regulations, and British Standards.

Client Liaison:

Support in communication with clients and other project stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide technical advice.

Project Coordination:

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, and structural) to deliver integrated MEP solutions.

Site Visits:

Assist in site inspections and surveys to assess project requirements and ensure that electrical designs are implemented correctly on-site.

Project Documentation:

Prepare reports, specifications, and technical documentation for projects.

Qualifications & Experience:



Educational Requirements:

A minimum of a

BEng/MEng

degree in

Electrical Engineering

or a related discipline.

Skills & Competencies:

An excellent understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices, particularly on residential , education and commercial Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is desirable. Detailed understanding of UK electrical regulations (BS 7671, Part L, etc.) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively within a team and under the guidance of senior engineers. Proactive attitude to learning and development.

Pay: 42,000.00-47,000.00 per year
