The UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences is the largest such department in the country with over 120 academic staff and 2000 students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level making it UCL's largest teaching department. It has a large research portfolio and is part of the Faculty of Brain Sciences. The Faculty ranks 2nd globally for research in neuroscience/behaviour and psychiatry/psychology, with three staff amongst the 20 most highly cited scientists globally in neuroscience and behaviour, and winning research income of over 50 million annually.
The postholder will be based in the Finance & Research Team which is one of nine professional services teams in PALS.
About the role
This role is open to INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY.
This is an internal secondment role initially offered for 12 months, available to current UCL staff only.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operation of all financial and research management and administration (pre- and post-award) at the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences, including oversight of research grant management and monitoring, training and taking forward new initiatives and developments. They will line manage the Finance and Research Team to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective professional service for all aspects of financial and research management and administration at PALS, as well as contributing to strategic financial planning and operational efficiency.

About you
The post holder will need to keep up to date with new and/or amended UCL policies and procedures relating to finance and research administration. The post holder will work with the Divisional Head of Administration and other members of the Divisional Operations Team, to actively engage in and implement continuous improvement of financial processes as well as liaise with senior School and Faculty finance staff to ensure best practice and consistency in service quality and the delivery of advice, and with relevant staff within UCL's Central Finance Division.
