Brief Description

We are looking for a Internal Audit Assistant Manager for a Permanent opportunity (full time) based in London Waterloo. To support the Internal Audit Manager and Internal Audit leadership team in the provision of coordinated assurance to the Network Rail Board (through the Audit and Risk Committee) in respect of the adequacy and operating effectiveness of the company-wide systems of Governance, Risks and Controls.

Team Leader and Developer: Lead, nurture, and mentor your direct reports and team members. Your guidance will keep the team engaged, motivated, and focused on delivering exceptional service to our stakeholders.

Corporate Governance Guardian: Act as a real-time support and challenger to both our Internal Audit and Network Rail management. When new processes are on the horizon, you\'ll provide recommendations to strengthen our corporate governance and control frameworks.

Audit Architect: Craft the foundation of our audits by preparing terms of reference, audit programs, and draft audit reports, all in accordance with our Internal Audit methodology.

Quality Assurance Maestro: Review the audit work conducted by the Audit Team, ensuring that Lead Auditors and Auditors meet our rigorous quality standards.

Recommendation Advocate: Present audit recommendations to Network Rail Management at all levels, working towards agreement and commitment to implement these vital Internal Audit recommendations.

Stakeholder Liaison: Be the go-to Internal Audit contact for key Network Rail stakeholders, ensuring our function is well-represented at business-wide governance meetings.

Change Agent: Elevate the profile of internal audit by contributing to the success of the Network Rail Internal Audit strategy. You\'ll lead key workstreams and bring fresh ideas to improve our ways of working and enhance our overall function.

Resource Manager: Efficiently manage resources by collaborating with other assurance providers and the Deputy Head of Internal Audit. When needed, arrange for external resources to ensure we deliver cost-effective and efficient assurance and advisory services.

Versatile Contributor: Be ready for anything! You\'ll handle ad hoc projects, critical and confidential advisory assignments, and any other duties as assigned by Internal Audit management.
