Reporting into the Chief Internal Auditor, this role presents a unique opportunity for someone to work alongside our Technology team on our Core Platform replacement programme, a significant multi-year project. You will lead on the internal audit assurance approach for this change and the delivery of the plan, shadowing the Core programme and drawing on your technical expertise and credibility to offer constructive and live challenge to support the business to establish and manage the risks and keep the Society safe. You will articulate your findings and prepare outcomes to share with Exec Transformation and Audit committees.

You will also have responsibility for overseeing the more traditional audits on our audit plan, the majority being in IT and Change, shadowing other key programmes and being a member of the Enterprise Leadership Group focussing on embedding our new strategic drivers and reinvigorated blueprints across the Society.

How you'll help us live our purpose

We've been helping our members save for their future and buy a home of their own since 1845. By joining us, you'll play a big role in helping us to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation. It's a purpose that drives everything we do and one we're proud of.

What you'll bring to the role?

You'll be a strategic leader with an in-depth knowledge of IT and Change and an impactful track record of the delivery of assurance programmes for large scale projects, ideally within Financial Services. You will be a trusted, credible partner who is used to operating at a Senior Leadership level, with an ability to influence and effectively contribute, with outstanding stakeholder management skills. You will have significant technical capability with advanced assurance skills, including planning, delivery and reporting and knowledge of internal audit methodology and modern auditing techniques. We are looking for a strong, visible people leader, with great relationship skills, who can inspire, coach and promote positive engagement across the Society and role model the right behaviours.
