Internal Auditor

Nottingham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Up to 62,500 (depending on experience) + Bonus and Benefits

We offer two bonuses (personal performance paid quarterly and company performance paid annually) with private healthcare and dental cover and a generous pension scheme.

Are you someone who thrives on understanding how things work, spotting opportunities for improvement, and helping businesses operate more effectively?

As an Internal Auditor, you'll provide independent assurance to senior leadership on the effectiveness of financial and operational controls. You'll lead end-to-end reviews of key business processes from planning and scoping through to testing, data analysis, and reporting. Your insights will help identify opportunities to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and support decision-making.

You'll use your knowledge of financial and operational controls to assess their design and effectiveness, making informed decisions on audit scope, risk ratings, and audit opinions. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to agree on actions that address any issues identified, and you'll ensure these are followed up or escalated where needed.

Beyond individual audits, relationship-building is a key part of this role. You'll proactively engage with stakeholders across the business to identify new and emerging risks, and you'll be a trusted point of contact for expert advice on governance, controls, and risk, whether for new initiatives or existing operations. You'll also contribute to the development of a flexible audit plan by assessing and prioritising business risks, and support investigations and special projects as required. Sharing best practices across Group Functions and Regional teams will also be an important part of the role.

We're looking for someone with solid audit experience in either an internal or external environment, who is ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CMIIA or CPIIA qualified, ideally with good knowledge of retail or healthcare. You'll bring a strong analytical approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to quickly understand complex business operations and identify risks. You'll also be confident working independently and collaboratively, and able to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.

This role closes on 30th September 2025: however, we may close the advert sooner if we get inundated with high-quality applications. So don't delay your application, apply now - you'll be glad you did.
