Job Description


The starting salary for this position is \xc2\xa332,798 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

We currently work on a hybrid basis, with an expectation that everyone in our service will share time between working from one of our offices and from home. Visits to client sites and other locations within the Orbis Partnership will be required to meet the needs of the service and clients. You will need to possess the flexibility and skills to receive a hybrid induction and to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients remotely and in person.

Join our fantastic Orbis Internal Audit partnership! We\'re searching for a motivated individual who is keen to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team. This role will have a particular focus on the delivery of school audits across Surrey. This can be either a full-time, part-time, or term-time only post; whatever works best for you.

Who are Orbis Internal Audit?

Orbis Internal Audit is a unique concept that provides internal audit and counter fraud services to East Sussex County Council, Brighton & Hove City Council, and Surrey County Council. Our team delivers work not only to our own sovereign authority but also to other partners, clients, and customers; maximising the impact, efficiency, and effectiveness of our service.

We are highly respected by our customers and clients for our commitment to delivering excellent results. In fact, we were externally assessed against the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards by the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and achieved the highest level of conformance available, reflecting our focus on performance, risk, and adding value.

We don\'t require formal accounting/audit qualifications or extensive knowledge of finance/IT functions. But transferable skills and a genuine eagerness to learn every day will be essential, together with:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent customer relationships
  • Self-motivation and the able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills, along with the ability to work within specified timeframes and budgets
