INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - Permanent Opportunity
DIVISION: Central
LOCATION: Hillsborough, NI
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Internal Communications Officer to join our growing Head Office team. Working with the wider team the successful candidate will assist in delivering compelling campaigns that motivate, inform and champion staff across all levels and regions of the business.
Through creative copy, video, podcasts, social media and photography, you will play an integral part in delivering integrated communication campaigns to build connections between teams and celebrate our inclusive company culture.
A relevant qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Studies or similar, is essential for this role, as is a 'can-do' collaborative mindset. We welcome strong communicators who are able to 'think outside the box', have a positive attitude and a flare for creative storytelling.
Experience in a similar environment would be beneficial, as would exposure to desktop publishing software such as Canva, InDesign or Photoshop, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Marketing and Communications team in delivering and coordinating the GRAHAM internal comms strategy
  • Ensuring organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and internal stakeholders
  • Planning and coordinating content for a variety of internal communications mediums, including;
- The GRAHAM Intranet - The Hub
- In-person and virtual events
- Staff videos
- Posters
- Photography / Videography
- Animations
- Email marketing * Maintaining records of campaign engagement and collating insights, analytics and metrics
  • Event management of internal GRAHAM events
  • Analytics reporting to Group Head of Marketing and Communications
  • Working closely with an in-house photographer and videographer to conceptualise and translate campaign ideas
  • Using the Hub network to communicate with staff internally
  • Drafting messages and / or scripts from the leadership team for presentation to employees in written, video and / or audio form
  • Ensuring internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation
  • Responding to feedback from staff and adjusting communications content accordingly
  • Working closely in tandem with the Marketing team to ensure messages are consistent with all external communication

Essential
Qualifications
  • A relevant qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Studies or a similar discipline.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and compelling content across multiple formats (copy, video, podcasts, social media).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, "can-do" mindset.
  • Creative thinking and ability to "think outside the box" for innovative campaigns.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistency in messaging.

Desirable
Experience
  • Exposure to the Construction industry
  • Familiarity with analytics reporting and measuring engagement
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of intranet platforms and internal communication tools.
  • Understanding of podcast production and video content creation.
Additional Attributes
  • Ability to interpret feedback and adapt communication strategies accordingly.
  • Awareness of best practices in internal communications and employee engagement.
