Internal Traffic Management Surveyor
to join our design and survey team based at our Scunthorpe hub.
Role Overview
As an
Internal Traffic Management Surveyor
, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of traffic management quotations, designs, and plans.
You'll be responsible for assessing incoming job requests, reviewing drawings, maps, and client information, and producing accurate
desktop surveys
that support the design and planning process.
Working closely with our Design Lead and operations teams, you'll ensure that every survey is accurate, compliant, and delivered within our tight KPI turnaround times.
This is a key operational role that requires attention to detail, excellent spatial awareness, and confidence in using computer-based mapping and design tools.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct
desktop surveys
using mapping, street view, and available data sources to assess site conditions
Interpret client specifications, permits, and drawings to produce accurate survey information
Identify site constraints, access requirements, and traffic management implications
Support the design team by providing clear and precise information for Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
Liaise with internal departments to ensure all survey data is complete and accurate before handover
Prioritise workload to meet quotation turnaround targets (typically within 24 hours)
Maintain records of completed surveys, ensuring all files and information are stored correctly
Contribute to process improvement and standardisation across the design and survey function
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a
surveying, traffic management
environment
Strong understanding of road layouts, site access, and temporary traffic management setups
Excellent computer literacy -- confident using
mapping and design software
(AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or similar advantageous)
Good spatial awareness and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical drawings or site data
Organised, efficient, and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Good communication and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Desirable
Experience working with
traffic management permits

Chapter 8
, or
NHSS
standards
Familiarity with
BricsCAD
,
Cone
, or similar design software
Previous experience producing desktop surveys for highways, utilities, or infrastructure projects
Full UK driving licence
