Job Description

We are seeking an International Sales Assistant who can provide administrative support across all distribution channels in the US and Canada, who is passionate about books and has an eye for detail.

Your team:



You'll be part of an award-winning and vibrant team focused on international sales of books in the English language. Our focus is on maximizing the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the bookselling chain, from major retailers and distributors to independent booksellers.



Your role:



As an International Sales Assistant for the United States and Canada, you will provide crucial administrative assistance in all facets of our day-to-day work, from effective communication with our partners to fielding requests and questions on upcoming title seasons in these regions to grow our sales. You will report into the Head of Sales for North America, and will assist in inputting data across systems, managing orders, creating presentations and pitching our books. This role offers significant opportunities in publishing and sales, building connections across various departments and imprints within the business.




Your key responsibilities:



Prepare seasonal catalogues, title submissions and presentations for all imprints sold into the US and Canada and help present the list Assist with coordination of local prints in the US and Canada, processing and monitoring purchase orders and overseeing stock control and reprint processes Attend meetings with the Macmillan US team and Publishers Group Canada with particular focus on operations in both markets Provide administrative support for business development in key imprints - Kingfisher, Campbell and Macmillan Collector's Library Co-ordinate the distribution of samples to our distribution partners and freelance publicity and marketing colleagues.

Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you'll need to succeed:



Experience working in an administrative role Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively while building and maintaining effective working relationships, both internally and externally Experience working with systems and tools such as MS Office, Google Workspace and Biblio Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team A highly positive approach with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset A passion for books and reading.

This is a full time, permanent position and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
