The Role
We are looking for a skilled interpretation specialist to join the V&A Interpretation team as Interpretation Producer for V&A East in Hackney Wick and Stratford. The role develops and delivers audience-centred interpretation schemes that are meaningful, relevant and inspiring for V&A East's young-adult visitors aged 16-24. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the final production of the interpretation scheme for V&A East Museum, due to open spring 2026, and ongoing snagging for Storehouse which opened in May 2025. Once both sites are open, the role will craft interpretation for regular updates and new displays in the permanent galleries and annual temporary exhibitions at both sites, alongside managing the maintenance and upkeep of the existing schemes. This producer is part of the central Interpretation team for the V&A and the role will develop with the needs of the V&A as it becomes a multi-site institution, with the opportunity for cross-site working and projects based at other London sites.
This is an exciting and varied role which encompasses interpretive work focused on the needs and interests of our young-adult audience at V&A East. The successful candidate will be able to think both creatively and critically, have a proactive nature with strong organisational skills, and an understanding of how to craft accessible interpretation that engages and informs our visitors while achieving the overall vision of the V&A to champion art, design and creativity in all its forms, for everyone.
