About the Role



We are seeking a dedicated

Intervention Support Assistant

to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision for students from

Year 7 upwards

. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need tailored support to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure pastoral and behaviour needs are met effectively both on and off-site. Communicate pastoral and behaviour concerns with parents, carers, and staff. Design and deliver interventions, programmes, and activities to support learning and self-management of behaviour. Act as an immediate responder to pastoral and challenging behaviour issues. Supervise and monitor reporting of significant incidents, including restrictive physical interventions, and analyse behaviour trends. Coordinate pastoral and behaviour support under the guidance of the Behaviour Lead/IST Operations Lead. Lead Student Voice initiatives within the school. Support Risk Assessment (RA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) updates. Track and monitor social and emotional development across the student body.

What We're Looking For



Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or in a pastoral/intervention role. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations. A proactive, empathetic approach to supporting students' emotional and behavioural development.

A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to location).

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
