Our approach includes various assessments to track and develop student progress, which are shared with both schools and families.

About the Role



We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. An SEMH intervention Teaching Assistant (TA) supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs by implementing targeted interventions, providing emotional support and nurturing, and fostering positive self-esteem and independence to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a school environment. Key duties include individual or small-group work, running specific intervention programmes, monitoring pupil progress, maintaining positive relationships, and liaising with teachers and other professionals to share information and coordinate support. The role requires empathy, strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to safeguarding and school policies.

Key Responsibilities:



Implement and deliver specific, targeted, or individualised interventions designed to meet the social, emotional, and mental health needs of pupils. Provide a calm, supportive, and stimulating environment for students who require emotional support, helping to regulate their emotions and build self-esteem. Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to develop their social, emotional, and educational skills. Observe and record pupil progress, behaviour, and general well-being, feeding back information and concerns to teachers or other designated staff. Establish positive and supportive relationships with pupils, encouraging the inclusion and acceptance of all children. Carry out associated administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and preparing resources, as directed. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, adhering to school policies and reporting any concerns regarding a child's safety or well-being.

Person Specification



A compassionate and patient approach to working with students who have complex needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with pupils, parents, and staff. The ability to adapt to changing situations and meet the diverse and evolving needs of students. Working effectively as part of a wider team, including teachers, external agencies, and other support staff. The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sympathy. Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential and foster their independence. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
