Based in Wolverhampton, the Investment Analyst - Private Markets is a key member of the Private Markets team, supporting the delivery of high quality investment analysis across asset classes including Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, and Property.
This role provides analytical, operational, and research support across the sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of Private Markets investments. You'll work closely with colleagues across internal investment teams, Partner Funds, and external fund managers to deliver high quality analysis, due diligence, and reporting that informs robust investment decisions and long term performance.

What you'll be doing:

As a Investments Analyst - Private Markets, here is a flavour of what you'll get involved in:
Support the sourcing, evaluation, and recommendation of Private Markets investment opportunities across Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, and Property.
Assist in due diligence and financial analysis on target investments, including data gathering, modelling, and preparation of investment reports.
Contribute to the launch and ongoing development of LGPS Central's Private Markets funds and strategies.
Monitor externally managed investments, tracking performance and risk metrics, and producing clear reporting for senior management and Partner Funds.
Support the integration of Responsible Investment and Stewardship principles within the investment process.
Maintain accurate records, models, and databases to support effective reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Collaborate with internal teams (Client & Advisory, Risk & Compliance, Operations) to ensure data accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to governance frameworks.
Assist in the preparation of materials for the Investment Committee and Private Markets Investment Committee (PMIC).
Contribute to a high performing, research driven, and collaborative team culture.
Build productive working relationships with external managers, advisors, and service providers.

LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing 45bn+ of their assets. It is one of eight Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK.

Requirements
----------------
Experience or strong interest in Private Markets, ideally gained within an asset manager, pension fund, or financial institution.
Knowledge of Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, and Property, with an understanding of the risk reward dynamics in these markets.
Strong financial and analytical skills, including data modelling, valuation, and portfolio analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Awareness of ESG and Responsible Investment considerations within Private Markets.
Collaborative and proactive approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
High degree of integrity and professionalism.

Degree level or equivalent
IMC achieved or in progress
CFA or equivalent qualification/ relevant investment experience is an advantage
