Project overview: Our client is driving a transformation to put data at the heart of the target operating model by replacing legacy upstream data sources and building robust internal data platforms. As part of this, the appointed Oversight Manager will work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to manage risks and governance related to key data domains, ensuring continuous improvement in data capabilities across the organisation.
The project requires proactive follow-up with team members to ensure that the relevant client's personnel are aligned, taking necessary actions, identifying root causes, providing operational assistance, and executing within expected timeframes.
Position overview: As an Investment Data Oversight Manager, you will oversee specific data domains, utilising the necessary tools to manage data risk and governance across various platforms. You will translate complex business needs into precise, actionable requirements and work closely with stakeholders to ensure robust data controls, scalable solutions, and effective risk management. The role involves supporting the development and evolution of internal data platforms and systems. While working for the client, you will be engaged in extensive collaboration with data operations, developers, architects, and business users to ensure data quality and smooth delivery of new capabilities.
This is an individual contributor role that involves collaborating with teams supporting Middle Office legacy systems. A strong knowledge of the Asset Management domain, particularly regarding Exchange Traded Derivatives, is essential. Familiarity with the trade lifecycle process is a plus.
The responsibilities include conducting data investigations, working with legacy data owners to resolve trade issues promptly, and managing the product development aspect of incremental legacy system improvements. A collaborative mindset is crucial, along with the ability to identify and engage key stakeholders effectively.
This is a hybrid role aligned with UK time zones, ideally based in the London office, with an expectation of working onsite 1-2 days per week.
Responsibilities: Engage with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into data services that address problems or deliver opportunities
Collaborate with Business Change, Technology, and Operations partners to ensure end-to-end solution design including data operating models
Interpret complex user requirements and guide Business Analysts
Develop and implement data controls to support key business functions
Create analysis artefacts including user stories with acceptance criteria and specifications for development and testing
Partner with Data Operations to ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, and sustainable
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data control within your assigned domain
Balance strategic and tactical solution designs according to business needs
Decompose requirements into Features and Epics and assist in estimating effort and delivery plans
Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with stakeholders for resolution
Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) support and sign-off
Requirements: Deep understanding of Asset Management industry, financial products, and data domains
Experience working on data projects in Asset Management or relevant sell-side environments
Experience designing data services and data flow architectures, preferably event-driven systems
Strong knowledge of instrument-level data and regulated fund structures (UCITS, SICAV, etc.)
Collaborative working style with developers, architects, Data Management and SMEs
Experience running workshops with diverse business and technical stakeholders
Proven ability to manage complex queries and adapt to changing priorities
Nice to have: Structured, methodological problem solver with clear communication skills
