The individual will be responsible for achieving best execution of trades across markets. Candidates should have a demonstrated passion for Emerging markets. Strong communication skills, quantitative skills, and proven academic aptitude are a prerequisite. The Candidate must need to work well within a collaborative, team-based process of a trading team spread between Boston, London, and Singapore.The position entails a strong functional and conceptual understanding of complex instrument types, such as Bonds, FX, Futures, Equities, Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Commodities, Total Return Swaps, Options, and other derivatives.Training & Career DevelopmentNew hires receive training but are expected and encouraged to continue learning on-the-job. During their initial months in the role, a new hire will attend formal and informal sessions that span an array of technical and qualitative topics. Training is designed to convey the teamxe2x80x99s core investment philosophy and goals, mapping this information to specific Trading functions and expectations.Traders are encouraged to pursue the CFA charter, learn/improve their practical understanding of programming, and strengthen their knowledge of the EM debt, equity, and FX markets.What will you be doing?Executing trades for the Emerging Markets Debt TeamMonitor financial markets and news.Provide instrument recommendations.Conduct trading research as needed for various countries including instruments, tax implications, and local regulations.Participate in opening of new markets with custodian and sub-custodians as needed.Partnering with compliance, operations, and other teams to reduce friction in the path from investment idea to implementationApplying programming skills to systematize and automate recurring tasksWhat wexe2x80x99re looking for:Proactive, independent thinker, willing to question existing processes and recommend improvements.Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree with strong academic recordKnowledge of Python, SQL, other programming languages strongly preferredOrganized and meticulousFamiliarity with Aladdinxe2x80x99s Portfolio Management System is a plusHigh level of efficiency and an ability to prioritize and perform under pressureStrong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a teamQuantitative aptitude, facility with manipulating large data setsAbility to be flexible with regards to work hours, adapting to market opportunities and dynamics given the teamxe2x80x99s global footprint in Emerging MarketsUnderstanding of financial concepts through coursework or job experiencePursuit of the CFA charter or equivalent designation is a plusForeign language fluency is a plusWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
