We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Global Investment Stewardship team where you will be supporting meaningful change by raising global markets standards and contributing to improving sustainability characteristics in investee holdings.


This role will be working in collaboration with the Investment Research and Climate Solutions teams. In this multi-faceted role, you will undertake investment stewardship related activities to support our work within our Climate & Nature theme and how it relates to our investments from a Stewardship lens. You will also assist with engagement with companies to understand improvements in a company's approach to climate and nature thematic areas and support public policy engagements.


You will work also work in close collaboration with the Active Investment teams to integrate Stewardship policies into the investment process, support the development of engagement plans, identify and engage with other relevant stakeholders, undertake qualitative and quantitative research and be responsible for producing related documentations, communications and recordkeeping for use in client reporting.


You will use your passion for climate and nature matters and your excellent written and verbal communication skills to enthuse and influence a range of stakeholders. The ability to review research, data, analyse and make recommendations to a range of stakeholders is a central aspect of the role.


What you'll be doing:

Conducting in-depth research on climate and nature to inform and shape macro-level thematic expectations Supporting the identification of key geographic markets and policymakers, contributing to engagement strategy, and executing climate and nature stewardship campaigns at thematic and company levels Contributing to company engagement plans, representing L&G's climate and nature positions in collaborations, and supporting voting activities in line with stewardship policies Supporting investment teams in integrating climate and nature considerations and Stewardship policies into sector and company research, including delivering presentations and building strong relationships with key stakeholders Driving sustainability integration across global investment teams, contributing to global research and engagement efforts, and supporting strategic climate and nature initiatives across L&G's business areas Supporting client engagement by representing the Stewardship team in meetings and developing materials to enhance client understanding Writing and contributing to external thought pieces, blogs, policies, and reports on climate and nature topics Representing L&G in external forums such as industry roundtables, associations, and panels as required


Qualifications



Who we're looking for:

University degree in biology, ecology, nature/climate science, environmental sustainability, engineering, politics, economics, or relevant experience applicable to nature and biodiversity Excellent knowledge of responsible investment best practices and broader trends Broad awareness of the asset management industry and the different challenges sustainability issues poses for different client channels would be advantageous A detailed knowledge and understanding of climate and nature topics that are relevant to investors and corporates A good understanding of nature-related topics, and the approaches, methodologies, tools and analytics to assess nature and climate risks and the implications of nature change and climate change in terms of commercial, economic and social impacts Familiarity with tools and frameworks like the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Science-Based Targets for Nature (SBTN), and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework Advanced Excel skills, with experience using across different projects. Any additional experience with investment data would be advantageous Confident and capable communication and presentation skills - with experience presenting in a professional context
