Job Description

The Invigilator is the person authorised to invigilate the LanguageCert exams. Invigilators must ensure that the Exam Sessions run smoothly and are conducted, at all times, in accordance with LanguageCert's regulations.

Your main responsibilities:



be fully familiar with the content of the LanguageCert "Invigilator Guide"

view and print the Candidate list / Invigilation Certificate / Close Out Report from LanguageCert's dedicated exam administration platform (PASSPORT)

be at the centre/exam venue at least one hour in advance of the exam

be responsible to ensure that the examination room is ready to proceed with the exams in accordance with LanguageCert regulations

ensuring that the Interlocutor is provided with the respective examination material one hour prior to the start time of the exam

guiding candidates to the examination room at the allocated time of the exam

ensuring candidates do not bring unauthorised material into the examination room and that mobile phones and any other electronic devices (including Smart Watches) are switched off and placed beyond candidates' reach during the exam

ensuring candidates are ready for the exam to take place and providing them with exam regulations and instructions

performing 2nd level ID checks and accurately completing the Candidate List / Invigilation Certificate / Close Out Report

providing candidates with the Exam Papers and Answer Sheets, guiding candidates to complete the required fields on the Answer sheets

supervising candidates at all times

ensuring all necessary procedures are in place to prevent malpractice and/or maladministration during the examination

ensuring the Exam Session runs smoothly and promptly escalating any problems to the Chief Invigilator

ensuring that people moving around in the vicinity of the Exam Room remain quiet

ensuring that timings are adhered to as accurately as possible

ensuring that candidates stop writing at the stated exam end time and collecting all Exam Papers and Answer Sheets, checking for proper completion of required fields

ensuring candidates wait in the designated area prior to the Speaking exam and that they do not mix with those waiting outside the examination room

ensuring that answer sheets and Speaking audio files are returned to LanguageCert after the exam, either via courier or via PASSPORT in accordance with the timeframes specified by LanguageCert

Minimum required skills and qualifications:



Good/Excellent command of English (Minimum required competency level B2)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

IT literacy (computer skills and use of related technology and software)

Understanding of the need to strictly follow rules and procedures

Polite, professional, punctual and a team player

Able to critically evaluate issues/situations/conditions and provide guidance

Understand priorities

Prior experience in English Language Exams is desirable

Ability to multitask and efficiently complete all tasks in a timely manner

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-12.31 per hour

Expected hours: 37.50 per week

Work Location: In person
