What you'll do We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Emerging Technology team. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimising cloud-based solutions that enable next-generation services and platforms based on emerging technologies. You would be part of a newly formed team focusing on SIM & Emerging Technologies within the IoT Connectivity Technology organisation looking to drive forward new technology to deliver business value to maintain our lead in global IoT connectivity . What you'll do: Design and implement cloud architectures for emerging technology initiatives on time and to budget. Provide expert knowledge on cloud infrastructure and platforms, to ensure our team achieves its goals. This involves translating the emerging technology strategy and architecture into efficient, resilient, and secure technical implementations. Optimise cloud environments for performance, cost, and security. Advocate for the latest emerging technologies to enhance IoT connectivity business value highlighting both opportunities and risks. Help drive the adoption of new emerging technology across the business and through to the formal product delivery Who you are Core competencies, knowledge and experience: Growth mindset. Adept and quick to understand new concepts and technologies, identifying the most suitable solutions for the problem at hand. Hands on experience of deploying solutions to the cloud. Infrastructure-as-code approaches such as Terraform. DevOps-tooling such as CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps/ADO, GitHub, GitLab). Container management (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS). Monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Loki). Cloud security key management services, encryption, other core security services/controls. Cloud networking Subnetting, Route Tables, Security Groups, VPC, VPC Peering, VPN, Transit Gateways, optimizing for egress costs. Cost monitoring, control and optimisation. Operating systems: Windows and Linux including scripting experience. Database technologies and caching: Postgres, MSSQL, NoSQL, Redis, CDN, Mongo. Knowledge of software development frameworks/Languages: Python. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with IoT solutions. Must have technical / professional qualifications: Degree in Engineering or related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or systems administration.
