Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on
IoT / Embedded Systems Engineer
to join our hardware and software integration team. This is a crucial role for a professional who is passionate about connecting the physical world to the digital realm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying the embedded systems that capture and transmit real-time data from a variety of sensors. You will be instrumental in building the physical infrastructure that powers our digital twin solutions, ensuring reliable and efficient data flow from the field to our cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Systems Development:
Design, develop, and test firmware and software for various microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory usage.
Work with communication protocols such as
MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP
to ensure seamless data transmission to the cloud.
Hardware & Sensor Integration:
Select, integrate, and test a variety of sensors (e.g., temperature, pressure, vibration) and actuators.
Design and prototype hardware solutions, including PCB design and component selection.
Troubleshoot and debug issues with hardware, firmware, and connectivity.
Process Industry & PLC Systems Integration:
Interface with
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
and SCADA systems to extract data from industrial machinery and processes.
Develop connectors and drivers to integrate with industrial communication protocols such as
Modbus, Profibus, or OPC-UA
.
Apply knowledge of industrial automation and control systems to ensure data integrity and real-time synchronization with digital twins.
Data Flow & Cloud Integration:
Collaborate with the data science and backend engineering teams to define data formats, APIs, and communication protocols.
Ensure the security and integrity of data transmitted from the edge to the cloud.
Prototyping & Field Testing:
Build and test prototypes of new IoT devices and embedded systems.
Conduct field testing to validate device performance and reliability in real-world conditions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in embedded systems or IoT development.
Proficiency in
C/C++
for embedded systems and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Hands-on experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, ESP32).
Strong knowledge of communication protocols, both wired (e.g., I2C, SPI) and wireless (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN).
Proven experience with industrial automation, including PLCs, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA).
Experience with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub) and cloud services.
