Location: Newbury + Hybrid*
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Hours: Shift role working 2 days, then 2 nights followed by 4 days off rotation (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am)

Operating within the Technology Operations Network Operations Centre, this role is responsible for Customer reactive and pro-active fault management creation and resolution. The role will be responsible for fault diagnostics, fault localisation and resolution for all Secure IP and Data technologies and systems, primarily for a dedicated Customer account but also the wider IP Secure customer base as required. The role will also provide opportunities to cross train on other technology areas such as Voice and Firewall.

What you\'ll do

Working in the Technology Operations Network Operations Centre on a range of technologies (primarily MES, PSN GGI CF, CJX. Multi Service Platform & associated products, IP Networks - Cisco, Juniper etc); the role will specialise in Secure technologies but will be expected to work across all platforms. In depth diagnostics and intermittent fault resolution may also be necessary as part of the role (as required). All faulting is targeted and measured within defined Vodafone Customer Service Level Agreements. Customer contact and interaction is also a key area of the role.

  • Professionally represent The Network Operations Centre in all day-to-day operations.
  • Proactively monitor secure customer networks to identify fault occurrences.
  • Acknowledge, check, and respond to customer fault reports.
  • Proactively create customer fault tickets.
  • Perform timely and accurate initial diagnostics, ensuring fault clearance wherever possible.
  • Ensure accurate ticket detail entry and updates for all fault reports.
  • Ensure relevant and accurate information available to assist in fault diagnosis and clear.
  • Monitor fault tickets, prioritise, and track progress as appropriate.
  • Ensure technical and managerial escalation completed to defined timescales.
  • Test and liaise with customers and other internal or external agencies and third parties.
  • Ensure overall adherence to quality procedures and working processes.
Who you are
  • Network management experience in 2 key technology areas
  • Excellent working understanding of IP & Data technologies, networks & solutions (Cisco, Alcatel, ADVA, Juniper).
  • Ability to develop capability of working across technologies.
  • Proven track record in network management & troubleshooting.
  • Excellent understanding of Global Telecoms infrastructure including 24 x7 x 365 environments.
  • Experienced at working with multiple third party network providers and equipment vendors.
  • Able to communicate at appropriate levels of target audience on both Technical & non-Technical (including process activities).
Desirable
  • Experience in telecommunications, of which at least one in an Operations Centre environment.
  • Industry recognised qualification(s) / Professional qualification(s).
  • Flexible approach to working hours and available to attend off site meetings as and when required.
  • Ability to produce Network incidents reports in relation to Network events.
