Job Summary:
The IQA Intern supports the quality assurance process by assisting with the internal verification of assessments to ensure compliance with awarding body standards and organizational procedures. This role provides hands-on experience in maintaining the integrity of assessment practices, supporting assessors, and helping ensure consistent delivery of qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sampling and reviewing assessment decisions made by assessors to ensure standardization and accuracy.
Support the coordination of internal verification processes.
Maintain accurate records of internal quality assurance activities and findings.
Participate in standardization and quality assurance meetings.
Observe and document assessor practices, providing feedback under supervision.
Help ensure that all assessment and IQA procedures meet the requirements of relevant awarding bodies.
Support the development and continuous improvement of quality assurance systems.
Liaise with assessors, tutors, and other IQAs to promote best practices.
Assist in preparing documentation for external quality assurance visits or audits.
Requirements:
Education: Working toward or completed a qualification in Education, Training, or Assessing (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, TAQA, or equivalent).
Desirable: Working toward or holding a Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with e-portfolio systems is a plus.
