We are seeking an experienced Beauty, Nails & Makeup Artistry Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join our Quality team and support the delivery of high-quality vocational programmes.
The role is responsible for assuring the quality, consistency and integrity of teaching, learning and assessment across Beauty Therapy, Nail Technology, Makeup Artistry and related vocational programmes. You will work closely with Tutors/Assessors, the Quality team and Operations to drive continuous improvement and positive learner outcomes.
This is a predominantly field-based role with allocated administration time and close working relationships with the Quality and Operations teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and delivering Internal Quality Assurance activity across Beauty, Nails and Makeup Artistry qualifications
Planning, implementing and reviewing interim and summative sampling strategies in line with awarding organisation requirements
Conducting IQA of qualifications to ensure assessment decisions are valid, reliable, sufficient, current and authentic
Carrying out portfolio sampling, learner interviews, employer feedback and observations of teaching, learning and assessment (OTLA)
Providing clear, timely and constructive feedback to Tutors/Assessors
Monitoring and following up actions arising from IQA sampling, observations and standardisation activity
Leading on and supporting External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits, including preparation, liaison with awarding organisations and responding to action plans
Observing Tutors and supporting improvement through coaching, mentoring and CPD
Supporting induction and ongoing development of new and existing Tutors/Assessors
Contributing to curriculum development, review and writing for Beauty, Nails and Makeup Artistry programmes
Supporting continuous improvement of schemes of work, assessment plans and learning resources
Monitoring learner progress, achievement and timely completion
Supporting the Operations Manager and wider Operations team when required
Maintaining accurate, timely and auditable quality assurance documentation
Essential requirements:
Recognised IQA qualification (TAQA / V1 or equivalent)
Assessor qualification (CAVA / A1 or equivalent)
Occupational competence and up-to-date industry experience in Beauty Therapy, Nail Technology and/or Makeup Artistry
Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and internal quality assurance processes
Experience of portfolio sampling, OTLA and standardisation activity
Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
Confident use of e-portfolios and electronic quality systems
