Skills4Stem Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction NVQ Assessor to join our team on a remote, contract basis. If you're passionate about developing the next generation of construction professionals and have expertise in assessing a range of NVQ qualifications, we want to hear from you.

About the Role



As a remote NVQ Assessor with Skills4Stem Ltd, you'll evaluate and support construction learners working towards their vocational qualifications. Working exclusively with online e-portfolio systems, you'll assess candidates' competencies against national standards, provide constructive feedback, and guide them to successfully complete their qualifications--all from your home office.

Possession of an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification is advantageous and will enhance your application.

Key Responsibilities



Assess learners across a range of construction NVQs, from Level 3 to Level 6, against awarding body criteria Conduct remote assessments using e-portfolio platforms Review candidate portfolios, evidence, and documentation Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learner development Maintain accurate assessment records and learner progress reports Liaise with employers and training coordinators as needed Ensure compliance with awarding organisation requirements and quality standards Participate in standardisation activities and team meetings (virtual)

Essential Qualifications & Experience



Assessor Qualification (one of the following):

Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (CAVA/TAQA) Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement A1/V1 Assessor Awards or equivalent
Construction Qualification (one of the following):

Level 6 Construction Site Management NVQ Level 7 Senior Construction Management NVQ Level 6 Civil Engineering qualification Equivalent construction management, construction design or construction engineering qualifications

Essential Experience:



Proven and recent experience in the construction industry, particularly in construction design, engineering or management Demonstrated experience assessing construction NVQs, including actively promoting inclusive assessment practices Strong understanding of e-portfolio systems and remote assessment practices Excellent IT skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment Familiarity with key awarding organisations like City & Guilds, NOCN, or Pearson Strong awareness of health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity, and data protection, ensuring robust compliance

Desirable



Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification (Level 4 Award in IQA) Experience assessing multiple construction disciplines Knowledge of current construction standards, regulations, and best practices Experience in candidate induction and assessment planning, including taking responsibility for the initial candidate induction, assessment planning, and setting clear expectations Expectation to engage in CPD to keep up with assessment standards, awarding body updates, and construction industry developments
