The IT Business Partner is responsible for building and strengthening relationships between IT and operational business units, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic roadmap and vision. This role drives collaboration, innovation, and value creation by understanding business demand, supporting project prioritisation, and ensuring initiatives align with existing technology to maximise return on investment.

The IT Business Partner facilitates effective communication across the organisation to break down silos, while maintaining a strong understanding of IT capabilities. The role requires engagement with stakeholders, to bridge the gap between IT and business operations to ensure our technology supports strategic business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities





Collaborate with business process owners and system managers to support capability roadmaps and IT change initiatives Engage operational units to understand objectives, challenges, and growth opportunities, translating business needs into actionable IT solutions Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication Lead and manage agile project delivery, ensuring end-to-end implementation and smooth transition into BAU operations Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including planners, work packages, gap analyses, user stories, and business requirements Provide accurate and timely reporting for management and governance meetings Advise business leadership on initiatives and proposals, ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps and priorities Identify business value, assess digital opportunities, risks, and business capability requirements in solution development Contribute to project planning and prioritisation, spanning predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches Define initiative scope, requirements, and prioritisation for projects of varying complexity Translate stakeholder input into actionable insights, driving innovation and opportunities for technology to enhance business processes. Undertake additional duties as directed to support IT and business objectives

Experience

Strong strategic thinking skills; understands business needs and brings proactive solutions to the team Demonstrate Emotional Intelligence and empathy when dealing with customer needs Establish realistic expectations to support development of mutual trust Knowledge of agile and hybrid project methodologies, to apply the appropriate project approach Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Proven stakeholder management skills i.e., the ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the business

Highly motivated, pragmatic, and practical to support the mission of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to accelerate the development of a commercial cell and gene-based therapy industry in the UK High-level interpersonal, communication (oral and written) skills and emotional intelligence A "roll your sleeves up" hands-on attitude towards varying work assignments Resilient, with the ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritise workload within a fast-paced professional environment, with a strong attention to detail Flexible and pragmatic, able to learn quickly and respond flexibly to project needs and priorities A good team player with a hands-on approach, and adaptable to new challenges Experience of standard Microsoft packages Flexibility towards work assignments and learning new technology Ambitious, collaborative, driven Ability to work well under pressure, to work independently and to be able to take the initiative when completing tasks Comfortable operating autonomously once goals and objectives are set A positive attitude towards learning, personal and professional development Keeps up to date with professional knowledge, expertise and best practice. Willingness to travel Proven ability to engage constructively in response to IT demand needs

Education / Qualifications

Educated to Degree level or with previous experience Certified ITIL V4 (Essential) Project Qualification (AgilePM/Scrum/Prince2) (Essential) Business Analysis experience (Desirable) Process Mapping skills (Desirable) Experience of working within the GMP Industry (Desirable)
