We are seeking a proactive, hands-on IT Team & Business Systems Team Leader to lead the delivery of IT services and infrastructure across the business, while line-managing specialist systems roles to ensure effective support, prioritisation, and continuous improvement.
This is an IT-led operational leadership role, focused on day-to-day service delivery, incident management, vendor coordination, and team leadership. The role includes people management responsibility for the ERP Analyst and Service Desk Analyst.
The successful candidate will ensure IT services are reliable, responsive, and aligned with business needs, while supporting specialist system owners to deliver improvements in a controlled and structured way.
Key Responsibilities
IT Service Leadership & Operations
Lead and coordinate day-to-day IT service delivery, including service desk activity, incident management, and escalations
Ensure timely resolution of IT issues and effective communication with users and stakeholders
Act as the primary point of contact for the external IT support provider, managing performance and priorities
Maintain IT operational procedures, documentation, and service standards.
Team Leadership & People Management
Line-manage and support a small internal team, including the ERP Analyst and Service Desk Analyst.
Provide clear prioritisation, workload coordination, and performance management across the team
Support capability development and ensure clear role boundaries between IT services and business systems ownership
Act as an escalation point for delivery risks, capacity constraints, or resourcing issues.
ERP & Business Systems Oversight
Provide people management and delivery oversight for ERP and business systems activities, without acting as the technical subject matter expert
Support prioritisation of ERP-related initiatives in line with business needs and available capacity
Ensure ERP and business systems changes follow agreed IT change, security, and governance processes
Escalate risks or dependencies relating to ERP delivery to the Finance & HR Director as required.
IT Governance, Risk & Compliance
Coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding, user access management, and permissions across systems
Maintain GDPR compliance and support routine IT risk management activities
Monitor service performance, including SLA adherence, and support reporting where required.
Projects, Vendors & Assets
Coordinate delivery of small-to-medium IT and systems-related projects
Track and manage software licensing, hardware lifecycle, and IT asset registers
Support IT budgeting activities by monitoring spend and highlighting upcoming requirements
Assist with vendor communication, renewals, and procurement processes.
Continuous Improvement & Technology Awareness
Maintain awareness of relevant technology developments and operational best practice
Encourage continuous improvement in IT service delivery and system usability
Provide informed recommendations to support efficiency, resilience, and user experience.
Person Specification
Essential
Minimum of 5 years' experience in an IT operations, business systems, or technical support role within a fast-paced environment
Experience supervising or line-managing a small technical team
Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure, service desk operations, and user support
Experience managing or working closely with outsourced IT support providers
Demonstrated experience coordinating IT or systems improvement initiatives
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Organised, proactive, and methodical with a practical approach to problem-solving
Full UK driving licence and valid passport, with flexibility to travel between UK sites.
Desirable
Degree or equivalent qualification in Computing, Information Systems, or a related discipline
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or multi-site environment
Experience working alongside ERP or enterprise systems teams, with an understanding of ERP lifecycle and change control.

Oakdale, South Wales (with regular travel to UK sites: Aberbeeg and Blaina)
Hours:
Full-time or Part Time, 30-39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm
