About our Team

Elsevier is subject to the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) law which requires companies to have adequate controls over their financial processes and systems and to laws and regulations related to clinical safety (GCP). Elsevier must also meet requirements from the Payment Card Industry (PCI) related to handling credit card information. Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) function is responsible for making Elsevier Technology staff aware of applicable laws, regulations and monitoring compliance.

About the Role

As the IT Compliance Manager, you will ensure that appropriate controls are in place across the global Elsevier Technology organization. You will ensure successful compliance with legislation and standards such as SOX. You will be responsible for advising development leads and application managers on compliance requirements. You will advise effective ways to meet them, monitor SOX compliance to prepare for internal/external audits and document and report on results. You will liaise with internal and external auditors, development management and other teams to remediate any deficiencies.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Coordinating and executing audits of STM Sarbanes Oxley controls i.e. process walk-throughs, test design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls (ITGCs)

\xc2\xb7 Assisting the business with the testing of the Application Controls

\xc2\xb7 Conducting regular audits of IT systems, processes, and controls to identify any areas of non-compliance and potential risks.

\xc2\xb7 Performing risk assessments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to remediate any identified deficiencies, implementing effective control measures

\xc2\xb7 Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of IT controls and processes to senior management and auditors

\xc2\xb7 Participating in the design and implementation of SOX Controls for new ERP Solutions

\xc2\xb7 Training junior resources from the Compliance team; create training materials and communications

\xc2\xb7 Providing guidance and support to IT teams on compliance-related matters and best practices

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate experience of audit and assessment experience with SOX

\xc2\xb7 Possess prior experience in a technology or cloud company environment

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate an understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, agile application development & maintenance, software testing, and IT architecture

\xc2\xb7 Have project management skills and the ability to multitask
