About the role
The End User Computing Engineer will provide hands-on deskside support to end users across multiple office locations in Leeds and Pudsey. This role involves the maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, managing end-user devices, ensuring efficient service delivery, and supporting the broader IT operations team. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to travel between office locations. Owning a vehicle is desirable but not mandatory.
What you'll do
Hardware Support: Install, configure, and maintain hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
End-User Support: Provide deskside assistance for technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
Device Management: Perform software installation and updates on end-user devices, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in person and remotely, escalating as necessary.
User Training: Assist users in understanding new technologies and troubleshooting common IT problems.
Travel & Logistics: Visit multiple office locations (Leeds/Pudsey) to provide onsite support as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions, contributing to knowledge bases.
Collaboration: Work with IT teams to ensure cohesive service delivery and support for larger IT projects.
About you
Strong understanding of hardware, Microsoft Office 365, user device management and end point encryption.
Experienced in Intune and Endpoint Management tools such as Defender, Bitlocker and VeraCrypt.
Technical support experience in MAC and apple products from a hardware and patching perspective.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Customer service-oriented approach with clear and professional communication.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
Familiarity with IT service management practices and ticketing systems is a plus.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
A strong sense of IT security management ensuring adherence best practice ISO/IEC 27001 processes
Desirable Experience
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) are desirable.
Proven experience in hardware support or similar roles.
Valid driving license and ability to travel to various office locations.
