The hours of work are between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.
There will be a requirement to work some Saturday mornings (08:30 to 13:00) on a rota with other members of the team, when students are on campus. These hours will be covered by time off in lieu.
Salary:
Up to 26,000 per annum, depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.

About the Role
Oakham School is seeking to appoint a Level 1 IT Engineer to join our Digital Services Team. The successful applicant will work within our in-house IT Service and delivery team, providing exemplary support for our pupils and staff.
Within the team you will be supported by other IT Engineers and the Network Manager, forming a collaborative team with everyone working together to develop, support, and improve the provision provided.
You would be providing support to end users through our Service Desk, by phone, email, MS Teams, and in-persons, depending on the preference on the user. We are predominantly operating a Microsoft setup, with Windows 10/11 devices managed through a combination of Active Directory, Intune and Autopilot. Our users make use of Office 365 for Productivity requirements and iSAMs for our MIS.
We are committed to the development of our staff and this position includes training and development opportunities, where you will be an integral part of development projects and have access to online training materials (currently provided through CBT Nuggets).
Core Responsibilities
Providing exemplary technical and customer support / guidance to students and staff with their school provided IT systems and BYOD devices
Taking ownership of IT Support tickets and following them through to their conclusion
Installation and maintenance of Windows 10/11 devices
Installation and maintenance of non-Windows devices, including iOS / iPadOS / Android.
Installation of software / Apps and services
Maintaining the schools Asset Register
Maintenance of user accounts, group memberships, and related management tasks
Ensuring the physical and digital security of the school, its systems, and its users
Including our security solutions, eg AntiVirus.
Essential Criteria
A relevant qualification in IT (e.g., diploma, certification, or equivalent experience).
Experience in providing first-line technical support in a professional or educational setting.
Hands-on experience with installing, maintaining, and supporting Windows devices (Windows 10/11).
Familiarity with supporting non-Windows devices, such as iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
Proactive and eager to learn new technologies and systems.
Adaptable and collaborative team player.
Committed to maintaining high standards of digital and physical security.
Enthusiastic about personal and professional development.
Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
Ability to take ownership of IT support tickets and ensure timely resolution.
Organizational skills to maintain asset registers and IT documentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools and services.
Ability to perform software and application installations across different platforms.
Basic understanding of wired and wireless networking, including patching and labelling.
Familiarity with IT security measures, including antivirus and physical device security.
Knowledge of print management systems, such as PaperCut MF.
Desirable Criteria
Certifications in relevant IT technologies or platforms (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals).
Experience with service desk environments, including ticket management.
Exposure to working with Active Directory, Intune, and Autopilot.
