We are recruiting on behalf of a Testing & Analytical Service Provider where you will be based in Hawarden and gain valuable experience as a Level 3 Information Communications Technician, following the Support Technician pathway. We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices, you won\xe2\x80\x99t be left on your own to figure things out, we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with your employer!

About the Position

The role of if the IT Helpdesk Technician is to provide support and technical advice to ensure our staff can work efficiently.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Log and respond to incidents / service requests and effectively communicate resolutions
  • Assist with delivery of a variety of IT projects
  • Ensuring the security and privacy of networks & computer systems
  • Organising & scheduling upgrades and maintenance
  • Laptop / Desktop build, installation and support
  • Setup new equipment including laptops, desktop, phones & printer
  • Support maintenance of server room equipment including back-up devices, switches, routers, servers
  • Travel to various locations as and when required for issues that cannot be resolved remotely
  • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors.
  • Develop and maintain inventory of all computers, monitors, keyboards, hard drives and other components and equipment. Ordering components as needed. Ensure server room and supplies are kept organised.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven technical knowledge of Windows OS (XP, Win7, Win8.1, Win 10
  • Proven support of Applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe , ???
  • Helpdesk ticketing systems (ticket lifecycle, ITIL basics)
  • Windows 2008-2019 server OS, Virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware)
  • TCP/IP networking - basic principles and active troubleshooting
  • Backup technologies
  • Office 365 \xe2\x80\x93 basic knowledge including Teams, Exchange Admin & SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory including Group Policy Manager
About you
  • At least 1 year of experience in operating and supporting Windows environment - both server and desktop
  • Good communication skills and understanding of user needs
  • Experience working with hardware vendors and 3rd party service provider
  • Enthusiastic and strongly motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Proven ability to prioritise and deliver to challenging deadlines
  • Great team player
  • Full driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is preferable
Working Week:

Monday to Friday. 08:00-17:00 (40 hours) 1 hour break

Salary:
14-19k DOE

Desired Qualifications:

We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.

Expected Duration:

15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment
